| The most aggravating things about
being a driver
3. People who write a check for the next
highest dollar.
It is bad enough to receive a 17-cent "tip"
in coins, but it is a supreme insult to see it written on a check.
You can write a check for any amount you want. There is absolutely no reason
to give the driver mere coins from a check.
-
For example, I took a $12.73 order to
a customer who hadn't yet written the check. I told her it was $12.73 before
she wrote it and I repeated it as she wrote. The customer even said "$12.73"
as she wrote the amount. She wrote it for $13.00. A big 27 cents for the
tip!
-
If the order is $12.73, you can write
the check for $13.73 or $14.73. I would rather see $12.73 than
$13.00. That would show more respect.
-
Because a check can be made for any
amount, it shows the true nature of the customer's heart. To fill out a check
and dump 27 cents on the driver for a so-called "tip" is the pinnacle of rudeness.
