The most aggravating things about being a driver

4. People who fill out a credit/debit card for the next highest dollar.

Like a 17-cent "tip" written on a check, it is an egregious insult to see it written on a credit card receipt. You can leave the tip line blank if you don't intend to tip. There is absolutely no reason to give the driver a few cents. This is worse than not tipping at all. You wounded the driver already when you did not tip. Now you are rubbing salt in the wound. This is really rubbing it in that you thought the service was a joke.

Banks and credit card companies calculate the balance for you. There is no reason to believe you must round up to make the bill easier on the math. Just pay your card at the end of the month. If you can't handle second grade arithmetic to balance your bank account, you must be too stupid to order pizza in the first place.

If you doubt whether you have enough funds to cover the tip, we can put that issue to rest. Credit card companies and banks check your remaining funds for 20% above the bill when they approve your card for the transaction. You may notice a temporary charge on your card. This is done by your card's company and the restaurant is not involved. If your card clears, it means you can tip.

The tip line on the receipt can be written for any amount or left blank. To dump 35 cents on the driver is obnoxious. This is an unnecessary obscene gesture and beyond rudeness.
