| The most aggravating things about
being a driver
2. People who "tip" only the
coins left over from a dollar.
They tell you to keep the change and it's less than a dollar. If the
bill was $24.90, the customer gave me $25 and said, "Keep the change." A
whole 10 cents for a tip. That is worse than no tip at
all. They turned my job into a sick joke.
-
I want to say, "Excuse me sir, but
if you think the change is the tip, you must need it more than I
do."
-
It's disgusting when someone tips
like that. I took a $42.77 order to a house and all they gave me
was $43 in cash and told me to keep the change. A whopping 23 cents. There was nothing wrong to make them hate me. I know my
service was excellent and far more valuable. What am I supposed to do with 23 cents?
I want to give it back so it will be less insulting to me.
-
At other times, it was a $14.83 order.
The customer gives me a twenty, I return five ones, and they tell me to keep
the change--17 cents. When this happens, I ask them to keep it, but they
strongly insist I keep it. Most people have the audacity to act like they're
doing me a favor in this situation. Do you really think 17 cents means something
to me?
- You are not tipping when you do this. There is no way you can be serious. If you are, you need to enter the 21st century and seek professional counseling. Most customers act friendly when they do this and tip 17 cents with a straight face.

I'd rather have no tip at all than to meet someone who thinks it's okay to tip 17 cents. This treatment is
embarrassing, demeaning, and insulting. I feel humiliated, spat on, and
disrespected. If you're that upset with the service, please don't order.
Don't mock the driver with the stupid change. What did I do to deserve this
kind of humiliation? At least take the change. I'll round up to the next dollar to avoid this crap if I have to.
