7. I can't afford the tip / prices
are high / I'm penny-pinching.
-
This is the worst excuse you can say to
yourself.
-
If you can afford the meal, you can afford
the tip. That's a universal truth.
-
If you can afford $18 for pizza, of course you can
afford the tip. The tip is small in comparison. On large orders, this excuse
is ridiculous.
-
If you really are hurting financially, there are much better
ways to save money.
Pizza is not cost-effective.
You can feed a family of four for $10 at
McDonald's.
In your situation, you really shouldn't eat out or order from a
restaurant.
Get a $5 frozen pizza at the supermarket. It takes less time to cook.
-
Blaming the driver for high prices by lowering
the tip is thoughtless. You were told the price when you ordered.
If it was too high, you could have changed the order.
-
The tip is not based on what you have. It is based on the bill amount and the perceived level of service.
This is a payment
for service. The tip is part of the experience of having your meal.

-
- If you want to be frugal, it's okay to be that way to yourself. However, part of being frugal is to not take it out on other people.
-
This excuse is really a lack of respect for the
driver. It shows that you give the driver very low priority. You were able to afford the hard part -- the bill -- but somehow unable to afford the little part -- the tip. It was strange that you could afford to blow $25 on an overpriced luxury item but claim you can't afford a measly $2 for the tip. Get real. The larger the order, the more ridiculous this excuse becomes.
-
We're sorry, but no driver in the world will believe
this excuse.
