6. Leaving blank lines on your credit card receipt.
-
While paying by credit card is quick and easy, you still need to fill out the receipt. Don't just sign it. All three lines need to be filled out. Leaving the tip and total lines blank is like handing someone a blank check. It opens the possibility for abuse, that someone could write themself a tip. We know that most drivers would never do that, but there's a chance an unscrupulous driver could or maybe someone in management higher up the chain. If management does, all eyes will likely focus on the driver. For security's sake, yours and the driver's, you really should fill out the tip and total lines.
-
Your order is not already paid for. You can add the TIP on the tip line. For those of you who aren't mathematically inclined, you don't necessarily have to write the grand total at this point. Just make the tip amount clear. Your intent will be obvious. We can do the math for you.
-
If you tip in cash, be sure to write a dash across the tip line and repeat the bill amount on the total line.
