Delivery story 70

Anonymous writes:

I am the head driver at Domino's in Hadley, Mass. We serve three major colleges: U-mass, Amherst and Hampshire colleges. I've been delivering full-time for 13 years and have gone through nine delivery cars. I have way too many stories to tell, but one incident happened last year that made me realize how blase I was about it afterward. Just another night in the trenches.

We have an annual happening at Zoo Mass called Hobart Hoedown. Lots of party helicopters and riot police. I had a $41.00 order to a dorm at 4 AM. When I got there about 15 drunk students started hasseling me. The usual "Domino's you suck" and so on. They only had $40.00 for the food. No tip and not enough money. I said $#@^ it and stated to leave. I had started work at 5 PM and had been delivering to drunks all night dodging beer cans and insults.

Two guys grabbed me and said, "We want the food." I didn't even panic. I said, "I'll call the store on my cell phone to reduce the order." I really called the U-Mass police dispatch. When I said I was being held hostage at Moore dorm, the students went crazy and tried taking the food from me. I kicked out with all my might and caught one poor lad in the family jewels. I got away and ran with them all chasing me. I heard a thunderous roar from around the corner and 12 police in full riot gear slammed the guys who were chasing me up against the wall, cracking a few heads.

I went back to my car with three deliveries still in it. The sergeant came over and said, "Want to press charges." I said, "Hell no, I have money to make." Just another night of deliveries.

I am a 49-year-old woman and I want to know who's raising these kids.
