A couple weeks ago we had this snow storm come through. I live in the south. It was only a few inches but being from the south, we're not prepared to handle this sort of thing. The little bit of salt we had was used on the main roads but the back roads were covered in ice completely.
To make matters worse, all the other drivers conveniently were unavailable that night leaving me to cover ALL deliveries from 5 PM till midnight. And believe me, there were way too many for me to handle.
Anyways, I get two deliveries going to one road. Seems simple enough. Well that road was so bad that I could not get my car up it no matter what. There were too many curves so getting the momentum up was impossible. So I pull my car to the side of the road, park it, put my coat on, put the flashers on, get the pizzas and hike a quarter mile up the road to the homes. It was night time, too, so I had to use my phone as a flashlight to read mailbox numbers.
Anyways, the first one stiffs me. I was pissed. I didn't say anything, though. The second one gave me a $5 tip.
As I was walking back, a truck pulls up. Apparently I had blocked someone's driveway when I parked my car. It was an accident, though, because I couldn't see people's driveways. But I moved my car and he was fine.
But, yeah, that's just SOME of the BS that I endured that night. All the other drivers can forget about me covering any of their shifts for a while.
