Delivery story 389

I was working a Domino's store in San Antonio. Went on a delivery to an apartment complex with an automatic gate. Did my delivery, but as I was waiting for the exit gate to open, a guy with a .45 came out of the bushes and demanded my money. As I was getting it for him I noticed he had an old model .45 that needed to be cocked and loaded before it will fire. Training from my military career made me notice this. Without realizing what was happening, my instincts took over and I grabbed the barrel of the gun, twisting it back on his fingers very hard. I heard bones crack and the gate opened so I could get away. Gunned my car and got out of there. Went to the closest place with a phone and called the store to report the attempted robbery and then called the police.

After the police took my report and I went through the investigation at my store, all went well. I continued delivering pizza for Domino's and am about to retire after nearly 18 years. I was lucky and did not get hurt. I do not recommend any other driver do this type of thing. Good luck to all you folks doing this job. May you always get good trips and outstanding tips.
