| Delivery story 302

I've been reading over the stories here and seeing that many of them are similar to things that have happened to me. Although I've only just recently started working as a delivery driver, I can see how the job is going to be very interesting as time goes by. Take yesterday for example.
I work for a Domino's that is open near the largest US military installation. The other drivers had warned me that the people on base do not tip. I listened with a grain of salt, because I had seen some of the people give tips. Anyways, yesterday I had to deliver five different orders to this post. The first four I received no tip on. This kind of got under my skin, since the post is about 15 miles from our store, and all of the people I was delivering to were another 5 to 8 miles from it. Gas prices being what they are today ($3.49 in this area for the cheapest kind) was making me wonder if I had gotten a good job or not.
The fifth delivery on post had me wondering if I was even going to be able to put gas in my car after my shift so I could go back to work tomorrow! The order came to $22.91 and the woman at the house gave me $23.00. She was very "kind" and said, "Go ahead and keep the change. I know gas prices are high, so it should help you out."
I had a stunned look on my face, I guess, because she continued on to say that she appreciated us being willing to drive all the way out to her house (23 miles from the store) and she was sure the change would help me out a lot. I thanked her and quickly went back to my car before I could say what I was really thinking.
Sometimes I just want to say NO! No more deliveries to that area until they learn to tip!!!!
