I worked delivering pie's in Minnesota for a local chain for about four years. A ton of great stories to tell, but here are a few:
1. Offered a date with "any of my daughters" as a tip on a delivery to a trailer park.
2. Asked "if I came with the pizza" by an older woman in her mid 50s.
3. Was offered to do a bong load for a tip. (I declined).
4. Delivered to a very hopping party to which I was invited to after I was off. I accepted and ended up having a great time.
5. Having the door opened to three teenage girls in their underwear, all laughing thinking they were being naughty.
6. I accidentally left out a fire exit in an apartment building setting off the fire alarm. Oops!
7. Dropped off an order to a house and was tipped a dollar by the ten-year-old who answered the door. His mom called the store after I left and told me to return the tip.
8. Asked by a customer why I was five minutes late during a horrific snow storm. Stiffed, of course.
9. Delivered to my sixth grade English teacher's house which reeked of marijuana smoke. Who knew she was cool?
10. Had someone very suspiciously follow me to the door of a house I was delivering to. When the customer answered the door, the person following me served the customer court papers.
11. My favorite: I delivered to the Minnesota Zoo on several occasions while it was under renovations. It required following back roads through the zoo to get to the construction trailer where they wanted their deliveries. One time, when I returned to my car, it was surrounded by peacocks that wouldn't let me through. I returned to the trailer to ask what I should do because I couldn't get to my car. He told me to "wave my arms and yell to scare them away." It worked, but had to be a funny sight for the customer!
