Delivery story 281 Andrew24 writes: I deliver for a Domino's on the east coast, one of the shore towns. I have a lot of stories but my best one happened over the Summer. It was about 1 AM on a Friday when I got an order to one of the ghetto type areas we deliver to. It took a little while to find the house because none of them where numbered. I get to the house and there was a little deck with a few stairs going up to the door. I knocked on the door and three VERY drunk Mexicans answered. I told them the total and one of them told me to hang on a minute. While he fumbled for his money, I noticed he was definitely delaying and noticed the other two trying to circle around behind me. One of them pulled a butter knife out of his pocket. I figured they where gonna try to rob me so I had my hand on my pepper spray I always carried with me. I had a knife, too, but didn't think I was gonna need it. I wasn't too worried because they were about a foot shorter then me and about 100 pounds lighter. I was 6'0" 220 at the time. The one with the butter knife was watching me too much to realize he was close to the steps. He fell off pretty hard. The knife came out and flew somewhere on the street. The guy pretending to count the money looked pretty pissed and said something to the guy who fell down the stairs and that guy kinda crawled back up the stairs. The guy with the money mumbled, "We'll get him next time," and asked me again how much it was. I told him 22.99 and he hands me a 50. I figured I deserve a good tip since they were trying to rob me, so I switched the 50 for a 20 in my pocket. I told the guy he only gave me 20. He looked at the bill and gave me a 5. Then he grabbed the food and walked back into his house. When I got back to the store I told the other drivers about it, and, it turns out they tried the same thing before to one of the other drivers. Once again, they were too drunk to pull it off. We stopped taking orders there after that. I really would not have minded going again if I could get that much off them again. return to top
