I spent several years working at a Domino's store in Virginia. I do not mean to toot my own horn but I was one of those drivers who started working on the inside during high school and I was good. So naturally when a local high school ordered 600 pizzas I was given half the delivery because I would be the guy who would be spending three hours helping to make them all. Our franchise gave a $5 large one topping pizza deal to schools. So 600 pizzas only came out to a little over $3,000.
Wouldn't you know it, though. Between me and my fellow driver we got a $10 bill. Five dollars is all I got for nearly four hours of work. I tell you it got me steamed. I didn't expect for us to make 15% (although 20% is the least we deserved for the effort.) Heck, even 6% would have been a hundred apiece, but to receive a 0.3% tip was just wrong. The manager ended up giving us $80 to split between us to calm us down, but it still hurts even today.
