Delivery story 176 Speedy writes: A couple of stories. The first one is for drivers only (at least only they will appreciate it.) I worked for a non-corporate pizza joint right next to a major university. We had a small delivery area due to the massive density. This one night we were getting slammed like Pam Anderson. Worse, the only other driver was a newb, when we would normally have four drivers. To make a long story short, I was able to deliver 12 orders in one 1.5 hour run. A number of them were multiple orders to the dorms. I think it was six separate locations. Same place. Another driver on my shift went out on a delivery that I had barely missed. He came back and almost called the cops. The customer was in his 40's. He answered the door in his boxers. There was music in the background. He paid for the pizza and gave a solid tip. Right as the driver was about to leave, the customer asked if he wanted a "Zanbar" and to party with "them." That's when the driver looked inside and saw another 40-year-old man in his boxers sitting on the couch and two 18-year-old girls in their underwear dancing in front of him. He leaves.
