Delivery story 153 J316 writes: I used to deliver pizza for a company in Pinellas County, Florida. (I won't mention the name because of the contents of this story.) Every week we had to deliver to a woman and her husband who lived very far from the store (about 15 minutes.) These people never tipped, ever. They paid by credit card and always put a big fat ZERO with a slash through it where the tip is supposed to go. They never smiled or talked to any of us. As a matter of fact, this woman was a cashier at a local grocery store near our store and every time I shopped there I would go to her line. She was really nice to the other customers, but when I was next she stopped talking and smiling. Unfortunately for her and her husband, this company I worked for hired a driver who had schizophrenia. This driver hated this woman so bad that every time he got stuck with her delivery, he would go into the bathroom and come out and shake liquid off his hand onto her pizza. The liquid was urine. The managers didn't care at all because she was always rude to them on the phone when she'd order. Two years later I quit that company and so did the other driver and the managers sometime after I did. Then one day I went back to that grocery store and I got right in line with a lot of groceries (so she would be busy for a while so I would have a chance to talk to her.) I told her what the other driver did and why he did it and she looked like she was going to vomit. I then told her, "I would have told you sooner but you didn't tip me either." I still deliver pizza for a living. It's been 8 years now and I've worked in a lot of different stores and I've worked with at least one driver in each store who has bragged about messing with someone's pizza because they don't tip. If you are reading this and you don't tip, just remember that the driver is alone with your pizza for 10-15 minutes before he/she gets to your home and could do anything to your pizza. I wouldn't want anybody else's bodily fluids in my pizza.
