It was the day before Super Bowl 37 and snowing really bad that night. This all happened in Niles, OH. I took a delivery on the south side to third street trailer park, a more trashy neighborhood. As I walked up to the trailer to make my delivery, my phone went off. I turned to shut it off and, what do you know, here comes a guy in a ski mask with a tire iron. He swung at me and I threw the pizza at him. I put up my arm to prevent a fist hit, taking a hard blow to my wrist and fracturing it. He ended up hitting me in the face, the back of the head, my back, and both of my knees with the tire iron. I managed to wrestle him to the ground and not let him get my money. He took off running back into the woods and I called the police and went back to the pizza shop, injured and bloody. I ended up not being able to work for two weeks.
The main manager at our store asked if I was okay and then asked if he got any of the money, because if he did it was coming out of my pay. I know this has nothing to do with no tips from people but I'm just showing how dangerous this job really is and people take us for granted. I haven't delivered pizza since and don't plan to.
