8. Your phone is busy or
unavailable.
-
If a problem develops with your order or we
can't find your house, we need to contact you. We don't have time to keep trying
if the line is busy. In that case, we must wait for you to call us.
-
It's not good to talk on the phone while waiting
for a delivery. If you use a dial-up modem, please don't be online during this time. Keep
your cell turned on if you ordered with one.
-
Some stores are required to call you back to confirm
the order. If there was no answer or your phone was busy or disconnected,
they will assume the order was a prank. This is especially true on orders of $40
or more. Please be very careful about this. The store should call you a few minutes
after you placed the order.
-
The best plan is to make sure your phone is available from the time you order until the driver arrives. Sometimes the driver must call you upon leaving the store or when the driver gets close to your location. It's crucial that we can contact you. This is an important safety issue for us. Drivers often use their private cell, so don't expect the store's name to appear on caller-id.
If you live in a secure building, sometimes the intercom uses your phone. We will not be able to get "buzzed in" when your phone is busy.
-
Delays of this kind will substantially impede your order. Please make sure we can contact you.
