| The most aggravating things about
being a driver
6. People who mention bad weather
and don't tip.
-
This is extremely annoying. In fact,
it's downright cruel. The driver ran to your front door in torrential rain.
Perhaps it was snowing and the roads were bad. The customer remarked about the bad weather but did not tip.
-
By mentioning the weather, the customer acknowledged
the horrible conditions and extra work the driver endured. We not only drove
in adverse weather, we walked outside in it. To allude
to this fact and not tip is extremely insensitive.
-
When a non-tipping customer comments
about the weather, I want to say, "No kidding. That might explain the harsh
driving conditions and why I'm soaking wet." The
driver took the customer's place in the act of delivery. It should have been the customer who had to go out and face it. Don't
ever mention bad weather to the driver if you won't tip.
- It takes longer to drive to you in bad weather. This can sometimes delay your order but that is certainly no reason to be upset. You should understand unless you are completely devoid of a heart. More people order during periods of bad weather and that increases the kitchen time. In my experience, most of the orders still reached the customer within the stated time. They had no excuse to be so ungrateful.

There are actually people who say, "It
must be terrible to be out in this kind of weather." After saying that, they
don't tip. That irritates me to no end. I want to ask, "Is that why you're
not tipping? because the weather is bad?" People are supposed to tip more
in bad weather. Not less.
