| The most aggravating things about
being a driver
21. People who think the driver is a
change machine.
-
The customer hands you exactly $10 over
the amount and wants a $10 bill in return. The order might be $16.67.
They give you $26.67 -- to the penny -- and want a $10 bill. Sometimes it's
$5, $2, or $1 over the amount.
-
This is okay if you tip. When people
don't tip, this is very rude behavior because we know some of the returned cash
is the tip.
-
I absolutely hate it when someone orders
$18.69, hands me $23.69, and says, "Just give me five dollars back," and
doesn't tip. The customer should return two or three of the $1 bills for
the tip. Some customers explicity state they want a $5 bill and not five ones. There's no intention of tipping. I always hand back five ones just to piss them off.
- This practice outrages some drivers, they refuse to produce a dollar bill and instead return coins, along with the coins the customer gave. People who don't tip do not deserve a special favor from me. The driver is not a human change machine.
