Damn! Don't you guys in marketing have any brains? The Welfare/Rocking Chair crowd are going to order at the 1st of the Month, anyway. Drop the $10 Deal into the mix mid-month, when all the WORKING PEOPLE need a break. ie; "Reason to Order Pizza".
All you are doing with this program model is discounting sales you could get at FULL PRICE, anyway.

Pizza Hut never stopped the $10 deal for carryout only. A few days ago they included delivery. The Hut seems to go back and forth on whether to include delivery. Last September they switched to add delivery when their YTD sales slumped and the extra deliveries did the trick. Then they switched back to carryout-only last Spring. My guess is the stores need more profit from the delivery charge to cover all those carryouts. 100% of the delivery charge is for store profit. It means more deliveries for drivers. I'm glad for that aspect but, like you said, the $10 deal is too cheap. They could at the very least update to $11. Full price is $16, IIRC, which would result in fewer customers but $11 fits within today's price wars.

It's their Doofus timing that erks me. Run the $10 Special the Last Two weeks of the Month, when everyone is counting pennies. NOT the First two weeks, when they're getting all that FREE Money, to maximize effect.

I reallllllly hate that dinner deal! I get more cheap asses than with any other pizza. U know its bad when its combined with a siera mist! I have noticed that when they brought back the 10 delivery deal I got back lots of stiffers who once had to visit the store for a 10 pizza! Stupid pizolas, cheap, stiffs!

It is done by design, that's who they are aiming at with that deal. They had a meeting and all wondered how they could manage to take money from the cheap and the broke, the people that normally wouldn't order because it's too expensive. The $10 deal is what they came up with and it's a huge success.
