I am new to the site and would like to here from everyone as to how they get paid. I run a franchise in a middle market town and try to provide a good wage for the drivers while also providing a good work enviroment. I would love to here from some drivers that love to drive and make some money at it while enjoying the job. My Drivers currently get min wage and we do not report any tips.

What do you pay for mileage reimbursement?

I would recommend leaving that as an option on the table. Most drivers want to give Uncle Sam the middle finger, but some prefer to report 100% of their tips.

You need to be paying your drivers at least minimum wage and the prevailing IRS rate for mileage reimbursement. That and provide shift meals, a 50 percent discount at all other times, employer paid health and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick days. Im not joking. Its time to start treating pizza drivers like the professionals we are. About not reporting tips: A no no. Sooner or later the IRS will come knocking and you and your drivers will be in a world of hurt.

What you need to do is maybe talk to other shops and see what everyone else is getting and then talk to people that you staff. As long as you keep labor and food costs to where you want it, then give your staff wages that they can start out at so that you can run your business. Pay the drivers minimum wage and when you see a major increase, reward them for hard work. Just my opinion. Good Luck to you.

It is important you pay your drivers fairly...At least show them the minimal respect of paying them min wage & a fair mileage reimbursement for the use of their car...Keep the delivery zone tight & right...What I mean by this is, don't subject your drivers to go way out there in the boonies to make a delivery..Timewise it'll hurt the amount of production you'll get out of them & money wise, it's just too much wear & tear, mileage on their car...If yu feel you have no choice on this matter because your shop is located in a real rural area?...Then put yourself in the driver's shoes & honestly ask yourself this question...As a driver, would the time consumption & the mileage I'm being paid worth me making this long delivery?..If you answered No?...Reconsider your delivery stradegy...Also don't subject them to deliver in unsafe, high crime locations...At the very least, give the driver the benefit/choice to consider executing a delivery if he or she feels unsafe...Do this without any threats on his/her job...That there would be one important factor to consider in providing a relaxed, productive, happy work environment... Also I'd say out of common appreciation & also another factor in creating a relaxed, friendly work environment..To give your drivers ONE free meal with every 6 hours worked...Say a free small pizza & one side item...Of course, free unlimited fountain drinks no matter how short the shift worked is... If it is truely your goal in creating a pleasant, safe, work environment you'll consider these things... Good Luck within your business...

They get a per delivery comp of 1.25 out of a 2.50 delivery charge. No mileage.

Bruce the Boss, why would you charge customers $2.50 in delivery charges, and only give drivers half of that delivery charge?

I get below minimum wage, $1.15 per run, and no vacation, raises, or actual vehicle compensation...which means if the building catches fire I'm hurrying to the store to get marshmallows. Ever since our pay was reduced below minimum wage my work ethic has followed.

Tips. $7.25 per hour. Tiered mileage reimbursement ($0.99 single, $1.78 double, $2.25 triple, no more for larger runs.) I get none of the $2 delivery charge. On more than single runs, they lowered our reimbursement after they started the $2 fee.
